two glasses of wine…

it should be listed as a requirement on the CD jacket “best listened to slightly drunk, preferably on two or three glasses of wine, alone and without distraction”.

“From her place on the stairs
or sat on the back seat
Sometimes you’re only a passenger
in the time of your life”

“and the adrenalin rush

Too little, too late #2

Pham Thi Trinh’s story

I looked out of my house and saw my sister, Moi.
She was 14 that year.
An American was pressing on top of her.
She had no clothing on her.
At the time I didn’t understand what that meant.
My sister was trying to resist him.
After the American got up.
he put his clothes on….
and then he shot [...]

Life goes on…

or not.
I wonder how many people, yesterday and today,  spared a moment’s thought for this.
Did that well educated, dull bastard comfortable in his everyday life without any financial worries…
the one who takes what democracy has to offer but has never lifted a finger for change….
Probably not too many of them….not here at least.

The West loves [...]

let sleeping dogs…

A year to the day.
Sweet natured, wagged his tail when addressed, protected Bibi’s honour and looked good with eye make-up.
What more can you ask of a dog.

They say that when you go to heaven all the dogs you ever knew run up to greet you and

and the front rank died.

She’ll never say.
I think she’s forgotten.

It doesn’t get any clearer than this.

with a spliff  this could be perfect…

or red wine…
Lying in the shade of a tree on a warm afternoon. A bottle of wine, weed, a frisbee and friends.
In those days it was the countryside of a south of England summer.

I was stopped by the police for swerving all over the road while I was driving home on a rainy night.
“Have you been drinking?” they asked.
“I was trying to avoid the frogs” I answered.
“Ah, I see” they replied and let me go. There are advantages to living in a at least nominally Buddhist country.

Just a little green…

Born with the moon in Cancer
Choose her a name she will answer to
Call her green and the winters cannot fade her…

Just a little green
Like the color when the spring is born
There’ll be crocuses to bring to school tomorrow
Just a little green
Like the nights when the Northern lights perform
There’ll be icicles and birthday clothes
And sometimes there’ll [...]
